Marcel Speet

Marcel Speet (Netherlands, 1951) is a versatile contemporary artist active in a variety of media, including paper, painting, assemblages, installations, and photography. His creations result from a fusion of visual and material experiences, nature, architecture, fashion, and his own history, resulting in a rich and varied artistic language.
Guided by a constant quest for artistic freedom, he studied at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1969. His artistic quest focuses on navigating confusion through material, texture, and color, thus questioning conventional dimensions. He disrupts, plays, and disorganizes to discover new creative solutions, thereby nourishing his artistic exploration.
His artworks can be found in private collections worldwide, including New York, London, Chicago, Seoul, and Rotterdam.

Currently based near Bordeaux, France, he continues to explore the boundaries of his artistic expression, aiming to provide a vibrant and dynamic experience, playing with dynamic compositions and vibrant colors to convey a sense of energy and vitality.

Marcel Speet (Pays-Bas, 1951) est un artiste contemporain polyvalent actif dans divers médias, notamment le papier, la peinture, les assemblages, les installations et la photographie. Ses créations résultent d'une fusion d'expériences visuelles et matérielles, de la nature, de l'architecture, de la mode et de sa propre histoire, aboutissant à un langage artistique riche et varié.
Guidé par une quête constante de liberté artistique, il a étudié à l'Académie Rietveld d'Amsterdam en 1969. Sa quête artistique tourne autour de la gestion de la confusion à travers le matériau, la texture et la couleur, remettant ainsi en question les dimensions conventionnelles. Il perturbe, joue et désorganise pour découvrir de nouvelles solutions créatives, nourrissant ainsi son exploration artistique.
Ses œuvres d'art se trouvent dans des collections privées du monde entier, notamment à New York, Londres, Chicago, Séoul et Rotterdam.
Actuellement basé près de Bordeaux, en France, il continue d'explorer les limites de son expression artistique, visant à offrir une expérience vive et dynamique, en jouant avec des compositions dynamiques et des couleurs vibrantes pour transmettre un sentiment d'énergie et de vitalité.

Marcel Speet (Nederland, 1951) is een hedendaagse multidisciplinaire kunstenaar die actief is in verschillende media, waaronder papier, schilderkunst, assemblages, installaties en fotografie. Zijn creaties komen voort uit een samensmelting van visuele en materiële ervaringen, de natuur, architectuur, mode en zijn persoonlijke geschiedenis, wat resulteert in een rijke en gevarieerde artistieke taal.
Geleid door een voortdurende zoektocht naar artistieke vrijheid, studeerde hij aan de Academie Rietveld in Amsterdam in 1969. Zijn artistieke queeste richt zich op het omgaan met verwarring door middel van materiaal, textuur en kleur, waarbij conventionele dimensies ter discussie worden gesteld. Hij verstoort, speelt en ontregelt om nieuwe creatieve oplossingen te ontdekken, waardoor zijn artistieke verkenning wordt gevoed.
Zijn kunstwerken zijn te vinden in particuliere collecties wereldwijd, waaronder New York, Londen, Chicago, Seoul en Rotterdam.
Momenteel gevestigd nabij Bordeaux, Frankrijk, blijft hij de grenzen van zijn artistieke expressie verkennen, waarbij hij streeft naar een ervaring van levendigheid en beweging, waarbij hij speelt met dynamische composities en levendige kleuren om een gevoel van energie en vitaliteit over te brengen.
