Marcel Speet (Netherlands, 1951) is a contemporary artist working in painting, works on paper, assemblage, installation and photography. His practice explores how visual structures emerge from material choices, colour relationships and spatial organisation. Through accumulation, friction and continuous adjustment, form develops as an internally coherent configuration that carries its own presence and remains open to further development.

Marcel Speet (Pays-Bas, 1951) est un artiste contemporain travaillant la peinture, les œuvres sur papier, l’assemblage, l’installation et la photographie. Sa pratique examine la manière dont les structures visuelles émergent à partir de choix de matériaux, de relations chromatiques et d’une organisation spatiale. À partir d’un engagement direct avec le matériau, la texture et la couleur, il développe une pratique artistique dans laquelle la forme se construit par superposition, frictions et ajustements continus. Ces processus donnent lieu à une configuration visuelle intérieurement cohérente qui caractérise le travail à travers différents médiums.

Marcel Speet (Nederland, 1951) is een hedendaags kunstenaar die werkt met schilderkunst, werken op papier, assemblage, installatie en fotografie. In zijn praktijk onderzoekt hij hoe visuele structuren voortkomen uit materiaalkeuzes, kleurrelaties en ruimtelijke ordening. Vanuit een directe omgang met materiaal, textuur en kleur ontwikkelt hij een werkwijze waarin vorm ontstaat door gelaagdheid, frictie en voortdurende bijstelling. Deze processen leiden tot een intern samenhangende visuele configuratie die het werk in de verschillende media kenmerkt.
Marcel Speet woont en werkt in Frankrijk, nabij Bordeaux.
